CMS Superlag dB Acoustic Quilts are available in a number of variants with either a glass fibre core for standard temperature applications or a ceramic fibre core for high temperature applications.

For ultra high temperature applications variants with ceramic cloth outer facings is also available. The quilts are manufactured with a facing on both sides and with edges sewn. The facings are bonded using a special process that eliminates stitching holes for optimum fluid resistance and also offers additional reinforcement to the outer coating ensuring that it is extremely tough and durable.

The outer facing of the quilt protects the fibrous core from contaminants and moisture. In addition to the quilts being used as pure noise absorbers, there are variants with either an acoustic grade lead core or polymeric core for high performance treatment of noise breakout. This is particularly useful when the product is used as a direct surface mounted lagging treatment for extreme conditions. The variants with a lead core are easily moulded and formed into three dimensional contours to fit around irregular shapes. The quilts can be fitted with eyelets to simplify fitting.

Polymeric variants are more economical for flat and slightly shaped lower temperature applications.

Applications

CMS Superlag dB Acoustic Quilts have been developed to solve noise problems in severe environments where high fire resistance, high temperature resistance and low thermal conductivity are required. The range of variants provides a highly efficient product for applications such as direct lagging to fans both at normal and high temperature, treatment for engine compartments and heavy plant and other industrial applications and as panels for open frame type acoustic enclosures.
