Preserving the peace for St Paul's refurb
Annona Development has worked with CMS Acoustics Solutions to ensure its refurbishment of St Paul's Church, Wigan, conforms to Part E regulations.
CMS specified Regupol 4515 to attenuate impact sound at source. Manufactured from a blend of recycled materials, Regupol 4515 utilises an environmentally friendly solution to deliver a high quality acoustic underlayment. Designed to be an easy lay product that can be bonded to all types of base floor, Regupol 4515 can be also be used with any floor finish, including ceramic tiles and laminate.
Lee Hackett, CMS Acoustics managing director, explains: "For many developers Part E is something of a minefield, but it doesn't have to be this way. There are a number of high quality acoustic materials on the market, and a wealth of expertise in this field. It's simply a case of finding the right partner to provide access to the best advice and products."
The creation of 19 high quality apartments within the former church required a sound reducing underlay solution. With an acoustic product portfolio including the complete Regupol range as well as CMS-manufactured materials, CMS was able to select Regupol 4515 - a tough and durable acoustic underlay material.
Jamie Preston, construction director for Annona Development, concludes: "Onsite testing proved that quality had not been compromised in favour of efficient installation - the measurements exceeded the regulations by an average of 8dB in all rooms. And the fact our buyers weren't restricted in the type of floor finish they could choose was a real advantage."
