SuperPhon wall panels soundproof Leeds Trinity & All Saints
Bowman Riley Building Surveyors has specified CMS Acoustics’ SuperPhon acoustic wall panels, to increase sound performance and reduce reverberation in a lecture auditorium at Leeds Trinity & All Saints.
Comprising a composite construction and fabric finish, SuperPhon panels reduce noise by impeding the transmission of sound through the wall and absorbing noise at the surface.
SuperPhon panels were installed to cover the back wall of the lecture hall. As such, CMS Acoustics customised the standard 3000 x 1200 x 25mm panels to fit around window openings.
Debbie Lewis, of Bowman Riley Building Surveyors, explains: “We were working to a tight timescale and therefore needed a company who could turn the job around within two to three weeks. CMS Acoustic Solutions were extremely efficient, supplying the SuperPhon panels within a couple of days, and overseeing the smooth installation of the product.”
To maintain the aesthetic appearance of the lecture auditorium, CMS Acoustics provided its mahonia coloured panels to complement the decorative design concept. Connected with Velcro strips and attached to timber battens on the wall, the panels provided a neat, non visible solution.
SuperPhon is a fully bespoke product and is made to order on a site by site basis. At Trinity & All Saints, panels were made of cambourne mainline plus fabric weave material. The standard covering is an acoustically transparent woven textile fabric.
