CMS Acoustics provides a solution for serenity for LCL Development

LCL Development is working closely with CMS Acoustic Solutions, a leading provider of acoustic and anti-vibration materials, to ensure its luxury newbuild project, Shaw's Alley Apartment Block in Liverpool, conforms to Part E building regulations.

CMS Acoustics recommended SoundDeck, an RSD (Robust Standard Detail) compliant resilient overlay shallow platform floor system. SoundDeck is a fully tested and certified product that provides the necessary acoustic insulation requirements that meet the mandatory Part E regulations.

Lee Hackett, CMS Acoustics' managing director, commented: "SoundDeck has a proven track record track record in meeting pre-completion testing requirements. PCT can sometimes be a time-consuming and costly exercise, so the availability of a proven RSD solution was ideal for LCL."

Mr Hackett adds: "There is an array of high quality acoustic products available on the market; however the main issue for developers is finding a provider that will recommend the best product for their project's requirements, along with the most practical advice and guidance."

The development of 30 luxury apartments, close to the Albert Dock, requires a durable overlay solution which will attenuate sound at source. With a wide variety of acoustic products, including the complete Regupol range, CMS was able to recommend SoundDeck, which is ideal for precast and beam and block floors.

Andy Sutcliffe, quantity surveyor for LCL Development, said: "We consulted CMS Acoustics because, having dealt with them in the past, they were able to recommend a high quality product that is RSD compliant at a highly competitive price, compared to other providers."
